The battle on the great day of God Almighty By Rev. Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly Message: The battle on the great day of God Almighty                          6272018

By Rev. Katherine Liu Bruce Christian Arts Ministries

Living in the United States of America, there are many ministers and prayer warriors face the spiritual warfare, and forces. It results in frustration, self-defeating, rejection, confusion, grudges, despairs, and hesitate to explore some scenarios. Many self-defeating and degraded Christians faced spiritual conflicts, couldn’t overcome (or unable to be set free from) the bondages of sins, and darkness, then gave up the faith in Christ. Ultimately, they became the bitter vessels, blamed others and cursed God because of their circumstances. As Revelation 16:8-11, 18, 21 had foretold as follows,

“The fourth angel poured out his bowl on the sun, and the sun was given power to scorch people with fire. They were seared by the intense heat and they coursed the name of God, who had control over the plagues, but they refused to repent and glorify him. (16:8-9)

The fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom was plunged into darkness. Men gnawed their tongues in agony and cursed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, but they refused to repent of what they had done. (16:10)Then there came flashed of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth… from the sky huge hailstones of about a hundred pounds each fell upon men. And they cursed God on account of the plague of hail, because the plague was so terrible.” (16:21).

“The battle on the great day of God Almighty the war will consist of several battles, beginning with Antichrist’s campaign into Egypt (Dan.11:40-45) and including a siege of Jerusalem (Zech.14:2) as well as the final battle at Armageddon. (Rev.16:16).”[1] Three evil spirits looked like frogs; they came out of the mouth of the dragon, beast, and false prophet. The dragon is Satan. The beast is Antichrist (Rev.13:1-3), the false prophet, the lieutenant. (13:11-18). “They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty.” (Rev.16:14).  Jesus did warm us, “Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed.”  (Rev.16:15). “Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book.” (Rev.22:7). Apostles John unveils these visions and awakens the saints keep watching and wait patiently upon the Lord. Once we know the truth, the truth shall set us free, and aware of the spiritual warfare.

Christian’s faith is truth encounter

The spiritual prayer warriors and ministers who fight for the battle of Christ, in Christ, they are victors. They pray without ceasing for the nations, stand for the Biblical principles. These fighters have strong faith in Christ, mood swings cannot touch their joy, despair cannot control over them nor do the grudges corrode them.[2] In Christ, they are victors, not victims, this is faith realization. For the sins cannot be the master to rule over the servants of God.

Unfortunately, there are many degraded and self-defeating Christians became hardened hearts, and refused to believe the Word of God, nor listen to the voice of God, because of their  circumstances resulted by sins. They were the salts on the earth, but lost saltiness, and let Satan gained the foothold. More shameful is that some self-defeating Christians even let the unbelievers and the secular psychologists diagnose them as mental illness, the term such as “schizophrenia, paranoia, psychosis, neurological chemical imbalance, Bai-polar, mania and depression”. And force them to take medication, and some results in the drugs abuse, regardless of a spiritual battle of the mind.

Author Neil Anderson opened up the blind sight of our spiritual eyes. Satan is spiritual beings; distract people through temptation, accusation and deception. Through a book named, “the Bondage Breaker”, Anderson explored the Psychologists and psychiatrists routinely see patients who are hearing voices: chemical imbalance is the standard diagnosis. But he debated, “How can a chemical produce a personal thought? How our neurotransmitters can involuntarily and randomly fire in such a way that they create thoughts that we are opposed to thinking? Secular psychologists limited to a natural worldview attempt to offer natural explanations for mental problems while Christians are encouraged to believe, declare, and act upon the truth of God’s Word.”[3] “Satan and his demons are spiritual beings; they do not have material substance, so we cannot see them or any spiritual being with our natural eyes, nor hear them with our ears. Satan’s only weapon is deception.”[4] But the Bible stated, “The one in us is greater than the one in the world.” In perfect love drives away the fear, for God is love. We can command whatever frightens us to leave in the name of Jesus. Believers have the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit. (Eph.6:14-17). Believers can pray or communicate with God in their mind and spirit, for God knows that thoughts and intents of their heart. (Heb.4:12). They can have unspoken communication with heavenly father. But when they under a direct attack from Satan, for instance in their room at night, they need to exercise their authority in Christ by speaking out loud, since the evil one does not have the power to completely know believers’ thoughts.” [5] As James says, “submit therefore to God, resist the Devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:7).  The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. (2Cor.10:4).

Accusation is one of Satan’s primary weapons, when Satan accused Joshua’s filthy clothes day and night; God vindicated and defeated Satan’s accusation. By the blood of lamb, and the testimony of the saints, believers can overcome the Satan’s accusation.

Christians’ awareness

In order to live a victorious life there are few factors as followers,

1). Keep testifying Jesus Christ died on the cross at the Calvary has powerfully defeated the Satan. Through Jesus’ redemption the believers have purchased back to Heavenly father. Christians need to do is keep testifying the Christ and declare the victory of their life in Christ.

2). A desire of heart to trust.  In the New Testament, Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man; the demon-possessed man had cured. (Luke8:26-39) Jesus also healed many sicknesses, for the person who came to Jesus had a desire of heart to be healed and trust.

3). Keep praying and fasting. In some cases require the believers to fast in order to defeat the demons, pray without ceasing, and declare the victory.

4). Repentant and obedience. An unrepentant heart, disobedience, and reject the voice of God, it results the spiritual conflicts, weakness, and many sickness. (John8:44-49). Adam and Eve didn’t stand on the ground of obeying God’s instruction. It resulted in spiritual dead and cursed.

5). Recognizing and partaking the cup in worthy manner. Many Christians’ weakness and sicknesses were resulted by partaking cup and bread without recognizing the body of Christ. (1 Corin.10:14-22).

6) Applying the Sword of the Spirit.  Christians’ best spiritual weapon is Sword of the Spirit which is Word of God. And take up the whole armor of God, having girded loins with truth and having put on the breastplate of righteousness and the gospel of peace. (Eph.6:13-17).

7). Keep perfect love in Christ. Keep serving the Lord through serve the people, and family with perfect love in Christ, for God is love, and the perfect love will drive away the fear.

8). Keep conscience clear and forgive one another. An unforgiving heart will blind one’s inner man’s conscience, to keep conscience clear, Christians must forgive one another.

9) Completely humble and compassionate. A meekness heart like quiet water, calm the soul. A proud heart gives Satan the foothold to dominate one’s mind, act in flesh implosively, and speak malice, full of envy, deceit, hypocrisy and slander of every kind. God resists proud, but give grace to the humble.

10). Renounce the freedom in Christ. Christians have right to be free and gain the victor in the battle of their mind. For where the spirit of Lord is, there is liberty. Christians need to renounce the freedom in Christ, and have nothing to do with the ancestors Adam and Eve’s sins. Because second Adam, Christ Jesus had paid the price for the sins once for all. By His blood shedding on the cross, believers are redeemed, and their sins are forgiven.

  Conclusion,

Where the spirit of Lord is, there is liberty. Christians’ faith in Christ is the key element to be set free from the bondage of sins and sickness; by declaration, repentance, and act upon the truth of God’s word. Believe that Jesus has already delivered Christians from Satan, and sins. The cross of Christ at cavalry has defeated the Satan, sins, and dead. Christians need to be still, steadfast and believe the battle belong to Christ. Satan (dragon), Beast (Anti-Christ) and false prophet’s schemes are deceitful, full of confusion, deception, and lies. (Jh.8:44). At the ending time, even the idol can speak, demonstrate the miracles, dominate the economy and refuse to have business with certain groups, such as those whose forehead without mark (tattoo). It will be very difficult to recognize the Christ. Apostle Peter encouraged disciples, “The end of all things is near, be clear minded and self-controlled so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”(1Pet.4:7-8).

In order to live a Christian life in victory, there are ten factors that Christians need to be aware with. 1). Keep testifying Jesus Christ died on the cross at the Calvary has powerfully defeated the Satan, through the Lamb of God; he had purchased the believers back to Heavenly father. And declare the victory of their life in Christ. 2). A desire of heart to believe and trust. 3).Keep praying and fasting in some cases. 4). Repentant and obedience. 5). Recognizing and partaking the cup in worthy manner. 6). Applying the sword of the Spirit which is Word of God. 7). Keep perfect love in Christ, for perfect love drives away the fear. 8). Keep conscience clear and forgive one another. 9) Completely humble and compassionate. 10) Renounce the freedom in Christ. The ancestors Adam and Eve’s sins through the second Adam, Jesus who died on the cross, the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ had set us free. Christians have right to be free and gain the victor in the battle of their mind. For where the spirit of Lord is, there is liberty. In Psalm 2:9 states, “you will rule them with an iron scepter; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” God gave Christ authority to rule over the nations; Christ gives the same authority to His overcomers. And encourages disciples, “He who overcomes and he who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations.” (Rev. 2:26). My friends, May God strengthen you to be the victors, and overcomers.

A better country- heavenly one, the city of living God. By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly message: A better country- heavenly one, the city of living God.

By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce Christian Arts Ministries: Biblical precepts & Gospel music

June 6,2021

We have a better country a heavenly one; the city of living God and the foundation whose architect and builder is God. My friends, have you ever wondered what is the different between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant? What is the hope for Christianity?  What kind of city that God promised to His people? What kind of city Christians shall look forward to dwell together?  Today, let us discover a better city, the spiritual city, eternal in the heavens.

According to the book of Hebrews 11 indicates a city, the foundations whose builder is God. When God called Abraham to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, he obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going. By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country, he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations whose architect and builder is God. (Heb.11:8-10)

All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better county – a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. (Heb.11:13-16)

What kind of city God has prepared to them?

According to the book of Hebrews 12:18-24, unveils the vision and answer, it says, “You have not come to a mountain that can be touched and that is burning with fire; to darkness, gloom and storm; to a trumpet blast or to such a voice speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further word bespoken to them because they could not bear what was commanded: “if even an animal touches the mountain, it must be stoned.” The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, “I am trembling with fear.” But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God; you have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the first born, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the judge of all men, to the spirits of righteous men made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel. (Hebrews12:18, 22-24)

The difference between the Old Covenant (law) and the New Covenant (the gospel) are contrasted by comparing Mount Sinai, where the law was given, with Mount Zion, the spiritual city, eternal in the heavens and symbolic of the gospel of grace. Therefore, Apostle Paul emphasized that Christians are saved by grace, not by work. Though Jesus the “mediator”, we enter in the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly. The church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven, which are believers who belong to the church, the Body of Christ, Spirit of righteous men made perfect.      As Apostle John described the city in the book of Revelation 21, “The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”(Rev.21:23-27). And “I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husbanded. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe ever tear from their eyes, there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed.” (Rev.21:2-4).  The New Jerusalem, heavenly city will be the abode of all the saints. (Heb.12:22-24). The bride of Christ (Rev.21:9-10), and the place Christ is preparing for His people (John14:2). During the Millennium the New Jerusalem apparently will be suspended over the earth, and it will be the dwelling place of all believers during eternity. (Rev.21:1-8).

My friends, what kind of country and city are you longing for? And look forward to participate with? Scriptures instructed certain group of people would not part of this Holy City, New Jerusalem. Who are they? “The unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars- their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is second death.” (Rev.21:8).  As Moses said, “I am trembling with fear”. And the author of Hebrews urged three times, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts.” (Heb.3:7,15; 4:7). For our God is a consuming fire. (Heb.12:28-29). Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts… (Heb.3:8, 15; 4:7). Joshua (Moses’ successor) could not lead all the people into the rest of dwelling in their promised land because of their unbelief. Likewise the believer today cannot enjoy a fully satisfying Christian life unless he believes all the promises of God, and even then he looks forward to that perfect future rest. The divine promise still holds good, the believer may enter into God’s rest through faith. This is true both of salvation and sanctification. Rest in the Christian life comes through complete reliance on God’s promises and full surrender to His will. (2Cor.5:7;Col.2:6)

To those who are believers shall work by faith not by sight. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him. (Heb.11:6). Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and keep on worshiping God acceptably with reverence and awe. And fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, continually run with perseverance the race marked out for us.  And looking forward to the city with foundations whose architect and builder is God. A better country – a heavenly one, a city God has prepared for us.

Standing on the promises of God (Ezekiel 34:25-31) by Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly message: Standing on the promises of God (Ezekiel 34:25-31)

By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce Christian Arts Ministries: Biblical Precepts & Gospel music

May30, 2021

What are the promises of God to Israel today? and to us who believe in the Lord our God? According to Ezekiel 34:25-31 the Lord’s promises to Israel, and to those who received the new covenant through the blood of Jesus, regardless Jews or gentiles who delight in the Lord, His promises have been revealed to us generation to generation and it’s trustworthy. We shall stand on the promises of God and believe that there will be showers of blessing, precious reviving and season’s refreshing come down from above.

What are the promises of God to Israel and His chosen races? There are six promises as follows,

1)      The Lord said, “I will make a covenant of peace with them and rid the land of wild beasts so that they may live in the desert and sleep in the forests in safety.” (Ezekiel34”25)

2)      The Lord said, “I will bless them and the places surrounding my hill. I will send down showers in season; there will be showers of blessing.”(Ezekiel34:25)

3)      The Lord said, “The trees of the field will yield their fruit and the ground will yield its crops; the people will be secure in their land. They will know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke and rescue them from the hands of those who enslaved them.” (Ezekiel34:26-27)

4)      The Lord said, “They will no longer be plundered by the nations, nor will wild animals devour them. They will live in safety, and no one will make them afraid.” (Ezekiel34:28)

5)      The Lord said, “I will provide for them a land renowned for its crops, and they will no longer be victims of famine in the land or bear the scorn of the nations. Then, they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (Ezekiel34:29-30)

6)      The Lord said, “You my sheep, the sheep of my pasture, are people, and I am your God, declares the Sovereign Lord.” (Ezekiel34:31).

The Lord rebirth of the nation Israel, yet, He agented Mount Seir, and  He said, “Son of man, set your face against the Mount Seir…This is what the Sovereign Lord says: “I am against you, Mount Seir, and  I will stretch out my hand against you and make you a desolate waste. I will turn your towns into ruins and you will be desolate. Then you will know that I am the Lord.” (Ezekiel35:2-4). Mount Seir is the mountainous region SW of the Dead Sea where the Edomites lived. (See introduction to Obadiah and Ezek.25:12-14) Edom joined with the Babylonians in 587 in killing Jewish refugees (Ezek.35:5) and grabbing some of the land.(Ezek.35;10). The Lord against Mount Seir because of their proud, for they claimed that first, “these two nations (Israel and Judah) and countries will be ours and we will take possession of them,” even though the Lord was there.” (Ezek35:10) second, “they have been laid waste and have been given over to us to devour.” (Ezek35:27)  The Lord judged Mount Seir, because the Lord has heard all the contemptible things they have said against the mountains of Israel.(Ezek.35:12). The Lord treated Mount Seir in accordance with the anger and jealousy they showed in their hatred of Israel and said, “You boasted against me and spoke against me without restraint, and I heard it. This is what the Sovereign Lord says: while the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. Because you rejoiced when the inheritance of the house of Israel became desolate, that is how I will treat you. You will be desolate, O Mount Seir, you and all of Edom. Then they will know that I am the Lord.” (Ezekiel35:13-15). The Lord’s favor, promises and the covenant of peace to Israel and Judah are unshakeable, unchangeable and indescribable.

The Lord’s unchangeable covenant of love to Israel also affirmed in Jeremiah 29: 10-14, it says, “ This is what the Lord says: “ when seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to the place. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will see me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and will bring you back from captivity…” (Jeremiah29:10-14).  There were 3023 Jews who had been taken to Babylon in 597 to exhort them to live as normal a life as possible, to await God’s deliverance after seventy years and to disregard false prophets such as Ahab and Zedekiah.

The Lord’s blessings of security and His protection are also found in the psalmist. The Psalm 91:1 says, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” The Lord is refuge and fortress to those who trust in Him. The Lord affirmed, “Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge. His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling even the Lord, who is my refuge. Then no harm will befall you no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. Because he loves me, says the Lord, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation. ” (Psalm91:3-16)

Today, salvation is opening to all the people regardless Jews or Gentiles in this generation. It’s important to believe in the Lord our God through the Messiah Christ, Jesus. For Jesus said, “For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” (Matthew26:28) “This cup is the new covenant in My blood, this do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” (1 Corinthians11:25). Y’shua’s blood was shed for us to preserve us for everlasting life. All the believers are heir together with Jesus to receive the showers of blessings from everlasting Father; “He has given us His very great and precious promises.” (2Pet.1:4). We shall stand on the promises of God our savior.

My friends, start to believe in Christ Jesus and confess your sins, and ask Jesus to come into your heart to be your savior. And read the words of God day by day, you will find rest on the promises of God according to Ezekiel 34:25-31. The Lord’s promises to Israel, and to those who received the new covenant through the blood of Jesus, regardless Jews or gentiles who delight in the Lord, His promises and the covenant of peace are unshakable.

Rise above it (Eph.4:29, 5:4-8-9 Isa. 40:31, Ecclesiastes3:11) By Rev. Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly message: Rise above it (Eph.4:29, 5:4-8-9 Isa. 40:31, Ecclesiastes3:11)

Rise above it when there is a flood in your life or a flood in your house. As Isa.40:31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run, and not be weary and shall walk and not faint.”   How to rise above it? It’s not in worrying over the storm or crises, but in waiting upon the Savior that we are able to rise. And trust His providence, His divine power and His divine plan. And pray that God delivers us from discouragement, frustration with His Spirit within us, His mighty arms beneath us, and His angels surround us, His supply reserved for us; lift us to victory through Christ. Ultimately, give God thanks and praise, for He has made everything beautiful in His time.

God created humans with two eyes, two ears, but one mouth, which means, God delights us to see more, listen more, but gossip less. Christians shall practice to see no one, but Jesus, listen to the Words of God rather than the voice of the world. Gossip less, but talk Gospel and praise God more. Apostle Paul urged the saints in Ephesus,

1) Let no unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs so that it may benefit those who listen.

2) Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving. For this you can be sure: No immoral, impure, or greedy person, such a man is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

3) Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.

4) For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord, Live as children of light. For the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. (Eph.4:29; 5:4-5, 8-9).

How to overcome and rise above all consequences, and conflicts in your life?

1)      First, by practicing quietness, rest, and the meditation of the Word of God.

2)      Second, be filled with the Spirit; speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord. (Eph.5:18-19)

3)      Third, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of your Lord Jesus Christ. Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. (Eph.5:21).

4)      Fourth, believe it that God will make everything beautiful in His time, be patient, be still before the Lord and wait patiently for Him. And delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Ps.37:4,7)

Have your life led anyone to the Lord? By Rev. Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly Message: Have your life led anyone to the Lord? By Rev. Katherine Liu Bruce

Christian Arts Ministries: Biblical Precepts & Gospel music                      May 15, 2021

My friends, have you been a good Christians and led someone’s life to the Lord? Have you been good mothers-in-law or good daughters-in-law impact your family and lead grandchildren to the Lord? and fear of the Lord? In Old Testament Ruth, whose grandson was King David became a worshipper of the Lord through the influence of Naomi. Had Naomi, a believer in the Lord, been a less lovable character or a less attractive worshipper, Ruth would not have been led to the Lord.  Let us discover Naomi and Ruth, the King David’s grandmother.

The events of the book of Ruth occurred during the period of the judges (the latter part of the twelfth century B.C.) the date about 1000 B.C. author unknown, some scholars suggested Samuel was the one wrote the book of Ruth. The book provides a glimpse into the lives of ordinary, though godly, people during the turbulent period of the Judges. It shows an oasis of faithfulness in an age marked by idolatry and unfaithfulness.

Because of a local famine, Elimelech (means my God is King) took his wife Naomi (means pleasant, lovely) and his two sons, appropriately named Mahlon and Kilion, to visit temporarily in nearby Moab Ephrathites. A designation for inhabitants of Bethlehem. (1Sam17:12). Elimelech, Naomi’s husanband died, and she was left with her two sons, they married Moabite women, one name Orpah and the other Ruth. After they had lived there about ten years, both Mahlon and Kilion also died, and Naomi was left without her two sons and her husband. Although such mixed marriages were not specifically forbidden in the Mosaic law, condemnation is implied in the restrictions placed on the offspring (Deut.23:3). Naomi said to her two daughters-in-law,

“Go back, each of you, to your mother’s home. May the Lord show kindness to you, as  you have shown to you dead and to me. May the Lord grant that each of you will find rest  in the home of another husband .” (Ruth1:8-9)

The Naomi’s prayer that the Lord (lit., Yahweh, the covenant name of God with Israel; would show His faithful, covenant-keeping love to these two Moabite widows. Twist, Naomi said to two daughters- in-law,

“Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am I going to have any more sons, who could become your husband? Return home, my daughters, I am too old to have another husband. Even if I thought there was still hope for me-even if I had a husband  tonight and then gave birth to sons would you wait until they grew up? Would you remain  unmarried for them? No, my daughters, it is more bitter for me than for you, because the Lord’s hand has gone out against me!” (Ruth1:11-13)

Then, one of daughter-in-law named, Orpah kissed her mother-in-law good-by, but another daughter-in-law named, Ruth clung to her and replied,

“Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God. Where  you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if anything but death separated you and me.” (Ruth1:16-18)

Ruth’s commitments to her vow, and showed that Gentiles could believe in the true God. She emphasized, “You people will be my people, and your God will be my God…” Ruth’s leaving meant final severance from her nation and her religion. She followed her mother-in-law Naomi’s faith, a formula invoking divine punishment, the addition of ever so severely indicating the worst possible consequences if Ruth were not true to her vow. “May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, it anything but death separated you and me.” So Naomi returned from Moab accompanied by Ruth the Moabitess, her daughter-in-law, arriving in Bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning. Naomi had a relative on her husband’s side, from the clan of Elimelech, a man of standing, whose name was Boaz. The lineage of Boaz, Elimelech’s relative, is traced to Perez, a son of Judah, in 4:18-22, Boaz was a man of standing, a phrase meaning that he possessed the finest of qualities.

Boaz meets Ruth

Ruth asked her mother-in-law, “let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes I find favor.” Naomi permitted her, so Ruth began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters, in the field belonging to Boaz, who was from the clan of Elimelech.  When Boaz arrived from Bethlehem and greeted the harvesters, “the Lord be with you!” Boaz met Ruth, had found favor in her, and said, “May the Lord repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the Lord, the God of Israel,” under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”  (Ruth2:12).

Naomi said to Ruth, “My daughter, should I not try to find a home for you, where you will be well provided for? Is not Boaz, with whose servant girls you have been, a kinsman of ours?” Naomi suggested her wash and perfume herself, and then go down to the threshing floor, when Boaz lies down after he has finished eating and drinking. Go and uncover his feet and lie down. Ruth did everything what her mother-in-law told her to do.

Boaz discovered a woman lying at his feet. “Who are you?” he said. “ I am your servant Ruth, Spread the corner of your garment over me, since you are a kinsman –redeemer.”

Boaz agreed and said, “The Lord bless you, my daughter, this kindness is greater than that which you showed earlier. You have not run after the younger men, whether rich or poor. And now, my daughter, don’t be afraid. I will do for you all you ask. All my fellow townsmen know that you are a woman of noble character… “(Ruth3:9-11).

“Spread the corner of your garment over me”, Ruth said, as a pledge that he would marry her. This expression is used of God’s relation to Israel in Ezek.16:8.The reason for Ruth’s request is that Boaz was a kinsman-redeemer. The responsibilities of the kinsman redeemer included 1) redeeming family property that had changed ownership, and 2) marrying a childless widow to raise up children in her dead husband’s name. According to the law of levirate marriage, when there was no brother to raise up children in the name of the deceased, the responsibility was extended to the next of kin. Ruth’s action was in accord with this law, which required the initiative of the widow in seeking the marriage (Deut.25:5,7-10). Ruth was indicating that night her desire to have Boaz, who had given evidence of willingness to perform the duties of kinsman-redeemer.

Boaz took Ruth and she became his wife. And the Lord enabled her to conceive, and she gave birth to a son. The women said to Naomi; “praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer. May he become famous throughout Israel! He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age. For your daughter-in-law, who loves you and who is better to you than seven sons, has given him birth” (Ruth4:14-15). Naomi took the child, laid him in her lap and cared for him. The women living there said, “Naomi has a son.” and they named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David. (Ruth4:16-17).

Theological view

The book of Ruth, gives a partial lineage of David, and thus of Christ, and shows that Gentile blood was in the line of the One who became the Savior for all mankind. Ruth illustrates that Gentiles could believe in the true God. Boaz, as the kinsman-redeemer, serves as a beautiful type of Christ, in that he was a blood relative (Rom.1:3; Heb.2:14); he had the price with which to purchase the forfeited inheritance (1 Pet.1:18-19). He was willing to redeem (Heb.10:7). The book is a moving example of the sovereignty of God in caring for His people. (Ruth2:12).

Implication/ application

1). A godly parents who have faith in the Lord as Naomi, can greatly impact next young generation, even gentiles could believe in the true God as Ruth.

2). Ruth’s commitment of vow and faithfulness to her mother-in-law, led her to the Lord and gained the favor and blessings. She became a grandmother of King David, who was a heart of God’s own heart worshipper.

2). Keeping trust in the Lord even in the darkness hours. Christians’ victory and blessings comes from the Lord.  As Apostle Paul said, “ But Thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him, For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.” (2Corinthians2:14-15)

3). Practicing godliness, love and faithfulness and reverence before God, God will enable you to find the favor in people’s eyesight. “Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.(2Corinthians3:5-6)

Life is more important than food (Matthew 6:25-34) By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce

Life is more important than food and the body more important than clothes. We have moved to a new rental house since Oct. 2019, my husband and I loved this house and yard. Nature, plants, flowers, and many beautiful species such as Woodpeckers, Cardinals, Tufted Titmouse, Rubin, Blue Jay, and Pigeons come by our front yard daily, seeking the food. God created animals had same life principles as humans. That is God was seeking godly offspring, male with female as a family to be multiplied, and be fruitful.

One day early morning, while I was praying, I heard a Woodpecker banged my roof persistently, and made a noise sound aggressively. I saw Woodpeckers male and female earnestly sought food to feed its baby. I understood that a little Woodpecker needed the food, so I ran to the store, bought a package of peanuts, and displayed them on a small plate in the front yard.  I saw the Woodpeckers come back, ate, and fed its baby. Now, the Woodpecker knocks the roof every day since then. Every time, it knocks the roof; I will bring the peanuts out. I have compassion for the birds; will God Father has compassion on us too?  The Woodpecker knows how to knock the roof in order to get food for its baby. Will humans know how to knock on the door in order to get the daily bread for family? As Christians, how to knock the door? By prayer, for Jesus said, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matt.7:7-8).

Jesus assured His disciples in the Matthew 6:25-34 said,

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you be worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do no labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself, each day has enough trouble of its own.

My friends, your life is important in God Father’s eyesight, your body is the temple of God, and the Holy Spirit indwells in you. No matter how worse the scenario is in your circumstance, keep knocking on the door. Do not be anxious about everything, but everything by prayer, petition, present your requests to God, God transcends all understanding will guard your heart, and your mind in Christ. Do not intend to hurt yourself, nor destroy your body. Your name is written on the palm of His hand. God will provide all your needs in His time. Jesus had demonstrated powerful miracles, two fishes and five loaves to feed five thousand people, will He not continue to approve who He was, is, and is to come? Will God Father not continue vindicate His only Son Jesus is Messiah Christ who is the same yesterday, today, and forever more? Change your mentality, and lift up your needs, sickness, health, family, job, incomes, and all the consequences to God. Keep seeking His kingdom and righteousness first, “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need. You will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8). “Faith is being sure what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. If anyone says to this mountain go through yourself into the sea and doesn’t doubt in his heart, but believe that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, it will be yours.”  (Heb.11:23-24). The Woodpecker banged my roof persistently; finally, it gained my attention and brought peanuts to feed its baby. In the same way, when a Child of God prays without ceasing, will God Father not answer the prayer and provide all the needs? In all things give thanks, the Lord is full of compassion; He will provide all your needs in His time. For He is Yahweh yireh, meaning, “the Lord will see to it”, and on the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.(Gen.22:14).

Jesus is a door, by Him you shall find pasture by Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce

Weekly Message: Jesus is a door, by Him you shall find pasture

While you were busy for daily tasks, your soul was overwhelmed by daily concerns, and your physical being was exhausted, you have no strength to neither share the love of Christ nor share the passion for the Kingdom of God. You just want to lie down, sleep, and embrace your own pains outwardly and inwardly, suffering emotionally restless. If this scenario describes you, one thing you need to do is rest your physical being, calm your soul, lift up all the concerns and cares to God by prayer and take time to be holy. Jesus said, “I am the door: by Me if any man enters in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. (John10:9). When Jesus was overwhelmed emotionally while he faced the final stage of Messiah life on the earth, He knew that it’s time to be crucified on the cross; He handled the stress, emotional strife and pains not by His own. He invited His disciples to participate in His pains and joined with Him in prayer. He lifted up His fear, concerns, and emotional strife to Heavenly Father, even asked Father, if it is possible to take away this cup…but not by my will, but your will be done. To succeed God’s redemption plan as Messiah, Jesus can’t fulfill it by His own strength, He prayed earnestly to God Father to strengthen Him. We are flesh with blood as humans; to imitate Him, we need even more God’s divine light, life, and strength in order to be transformed into His likeness.

When you pursue your earthly successful life, take time to be holy and lift up daily tasks, needs, concerns to God Father in the name of Jesus. Jesus is a door, by Him, you will find pasture, whoever enters in through Him, he or she shall be saved. When you have gone through the emotional strife, sense of failure, and your mind was attacked by the negative thought says, “you are nobody, immediately declare 1Peter 2:9 to yourself, “but you are a chosen people, royal priesthood, a holy nations, a people belong to God, that you may declared the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God, once you had not received mercy, but now you had received mercy.”  The value of being God’s chosen race, royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, are more significant beyond the earthly success. “If you want to be successful in life, you must be fervent in your prayers, fearless in your principles, firm in your purposes, farsighted in your planning, and faithful in your practicing.”[1] In Biblical precepts, “success is not found in money or might, in position or popularity. But it is found in seeking, knowing, loving, and obeying the Lord.”[2] Jesus had laid the good example, His success was found in completing God’s will, and God Father vindicated Him as Son of God, and gave Him a name “Jesus”, the name above all names. If you seek Him, you will know Him. If you know Him, you will love Him. If you love Him, you will obey Him. If you obey Him, He will lead you on to success. The Lord never made anything that was not good. He has never planned a failure. As Jeremiah 29:11 - 14 said, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you.” Declare the Lord.” The Lord delights us to seek Him, call upon Him, pray to Him and by Him, we will find pasture.

My friends, when you or your loved one experience emotional strife, restless, and overwhelmed by daily tasks, commit your life and your loved ones to Christ Jesus and lift up all of your consequences to the Lord by prayer. The Lord will grant you a sense of His providence, value, plans, protections, peace, perseverance, calmness, quietness, and strength.

Jeremiah’s call (Jeremiah 1:1-19) By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce

Today’s biblical precepts of message: Jeremiah’s call (Jeremiah 1:1-10)

By Rev.Katherine Liu Bruce Christian Arts Ministries: Biblical Precepts & Gospel Music

Date: April, 25,2021

My friends, do you know what your call is? Do you make excuses like Jeremiah not to fulfill God’s call because of age? Especially, when you grow in aging, strength has gone, as seniors, you may think that you are no longer be useful for building the church, and the kingdom of God, so that you make excuses not to proclaim good news, nor fulfill the commission of Jesus, who commanded, “therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matt.28:19).  May this message renews your heart and be encouraged to run the race. Although our physical being outwardly perish day by day, yet, inwardly, our inner man through Christ indwell in us, we are being renewed day by day. Let us refresh and renew God’s call through the book of Jeremiah.

 What is Jeremiah’s call?

According to the book of Jeremiah date 627- 585 B.C. Jeremiah is weeping prophet or the prophet of loneliness, because he was commanded not to marry. Jeremiah was also the reluctant prophet. Yet for more than forty years he faithfully proclaimed God’s judgment on apostate Judah, all the while enduring opposition, beatings and imprisonment. Jeremiah began his ministry at about the age of twenty under good King Josiah, with whom he enjoyed cordial relations. After Josiah’s death, opposition to the prophet mounted. He barely escaped, arrest, was forbidden to go the Temple, and had to deputize Baruch, his secretary, to deliver his prophecies. King Jehoiakim destroyed Jeremiah’s written predictions, King Zedekiah permitted nationalistic minded nobles to imprison Jeremiah; then he reduced the punishment. When the forces of Nebuchadnezzar took Jerusalem in 586; Jeremiah was freed and given the choice of going to Babylon or remaining in Jerusalem. He chose the latter, but was soon abducted and taken to Egypt by Jews who fled there rather than face Nebuchadnezzar. In Egypt Jeremiah prophesied a few more years and apparently there he died. Sensitive and sympathetic by nature, he nevertheless was commanded by God to deliver a stern message of judgment. The opposition he faced was cruel and crushing, so much so that more than once he wanted to resign from his office as prophet; yet he continued faithfully to proclaim God’s word.[1]

God’s promise to Jeremiah

Jeremiah is son of Hilkiah, one of the priests at Anathoth in the territory of Benjamin. The Lord of the Lord came to him in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah Son of Amon king of Judah, and through the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king Judah, down to the fifth month of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, when the people of Jerusalem went into exile. The word of Lord came to Jeremiah and saying, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (Jer.1:5) Jeremiah was a child when God called him and appointed him as prophet to the nations, but Jeremiah made an excuse that he didn’t know how to speak and he is only a child. This is how he responded, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, I do not know how to speak; I am only a child.” But the Lord said to him, “Do not say, ‘I am only a child.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

Then the Lord reached out His hand and touched Jeremiah’s mouth and said to him, “Now, I have put my words in your mouth. See, today, I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.”(Jer.1:9-10).   Jeremiah was strengthened by God; his mouth was touched by the hand of God, so God had succeded Jeremiah to be the prophet over nations and kingdoms to uproot, tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.

Christians ’call realization: acknowledge God’s presence is with you

In Christians’ ministry journey, it is important to distinguish what is God’s call to you? Once God affirms your call, He will strengthen you to fulfill His commands. Jeremiah and Moses faced God’s call, both, had made excuses and refused to fulfill the mission in the beginning. Yet, God’s loving-kindness and willingly provided solution and helper to them, in order to success the mission. God’s plan is best; His presence is with those who obey His call, for He is Omnipresence. Moses and Jeremiah didn’t learn their own understanding, but all the ways they acknowledged God’s leading, for they knew it was God’s call. And God had promised, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you.” God’s presence was with His servants as Jesus promised, “Surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”(Matt.28:20).

Today, you and I can be like Jeremiah and Moses, make excuses about aging, retirement, language barriers, lost health, and lack financial aid. There are many obstacles in the U.S.A, so eventually we lack the desires of hearts to build kingdom of God as disciples and prophets. No matter your age, my friends,  if God’s call to you is affirmed as Jeremiah, Moses, and you heard God’s voice so clear that God wants you to fulfill His great commission, don’t hesitate to fulfill God’s call. His presence will be with you; He will equip you, train you, send you helper, and put His word in your mouth. He will never leave you nor forsake you. For God’s call is irrevocable.
