Romans 11 Israel’s Future,
Salvation. The extent of Israel’s rejection (partial)
11:1 I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin.
11:2 God did not
reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don't you know what the Scripture says in
the passage about Elijah--how he appealed to God against Israel:
11:3 "Lord, they
have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left,
and they are trying to kill me"?
11:4 And what was
God's answer to him? "I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have
not bowed the knee to Baal."
11:5 So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace.
11:6 And if by grace,
then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
11:7 What then? What
Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others
were hardened,
11:8 as it is written:
"God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and
ears so that they could not hear, to this very day."
11:9 And David says:
"May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a
retribution for them.
11:10 May their eyes
be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever."
Ingrafted Branches
11:11 Again I ask: Did
they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of
their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious.
11:12 But if their
transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the
Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring!
11:13 I am talking to
you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my
ministry
11:14 in the hope that
I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them.
11:15 For if their
rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but
life from the dead?
11:16 If the part of
the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the
root is holy, so are the branches.
11:17 If some of the
branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been
grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive
root,
11:18 do not boast
over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but
the root supports you.
11:19 You will say
then, "Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in."
11:20 Granted. But
they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be
arrogant, but be afraid.
11:21 For if God did
not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either.
11:22 Consider
therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but
kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you
also will be cut off.
11:23 And if they do
not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them
in again.
11:24 After all, if
you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to
nature were grafted into a cultivated olive tree, how much more readily will
these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!
All Israel Will Be
Saved
11:25 I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery,
brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening
in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.
11:26 And so all Israel
will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he
will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
11:27 And this is my
covenant with them when I take away their sins."
11:28 As far as the gospel
is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is
concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,
11:29 for God's gifts and
his call are irrevocable.
11:30 Just as you who were
at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their
disobedience,
11:31 so they too have
now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result
of God's mercy to you.
11:32 For God has bound
all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.
Doxology
11:33 Oh, the depth of the
riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and
his paths beyond tracing out!
11:34 "Who has known
the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?"
11:35 "Who has ever
given to God, that God should repay him?"
11:36 For from him and
through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

『“主阿，他們殺了你的申言者，拆了你的祭壇，只剩下我一個人，他們還要尋索我的命。”』羅十一3
『但神的回話是怎麼對他說的？是說，“我為自己留下七千人，是未曾向巴力屈膝的。”』羅十一4
『在現今的時候，也是這樣，照著恩典的揀選，還有剩下的餘數。』羅十一5
『既是照著恩典，就不再是本於行為；不然，恩典就不再是恩典了。』羅十一6
『這怎麼樣？以色列人所切求的，他們沒有得著，惟有蒙揀選的人得著了，其餘的都成了頑梗不化的。』羅十一7
『如經上所記：“神給他們昏睡的靈，看不見的眼，聽不見的耳，直到今日。”』羅十一8
『大衛也說，“願他們的筵席成為陷阱，成為網羅，成為絆腳石，作對他們的報應；』羅十一9
『願他們的眼睛昏矇，不能看見；願你時常彎下他們的脊背。”』羅十一10
『這樣，我說，他們失腳是要他們跌倒麼？絕對不是！反倒因他們的過失，救恩便臨到外邦人，好惹動他們妒忌。』羅十一11
『若他們的過失成為世人的富足，他們的缺乏成為外邦人的富足，何況他們的豐滿？』羅十一12
『我是對你們外邦人說的，因我是外邦人的使徒，所以榮耀我的職事，』羅十一13
『或者可以惹動我骨肉之親妒忌，好救他們一些人。』羅十一14
『若他們被丟棄，世人就得與神和好，他們被收納，豈不是從死人中復生麼？』羅十一15
『所獻麵團的頭一部分若是聖的，全團也是聖的；樹根若是聖的，樹枝也是聖的。』羅十一16
『若有幾根枝子被折下來，你這野橄欖得在其中接上去，一同有分於橄欖根的肥汁，』羅十一17
『你就不可向那些枝子誇口；縱然誇口，也不是你托著根，乃是根托著你。』羅十一18
『這樣，你要說，那些枝子被折下來，是特為叫我接上去。』羅十一19
『不錯，他們因著不信，所以被折下來，你因著信，所以站立得住。你不可心思高傲，倒要懼怕；』羅十一20
『因為神若不吝惜本來的枝子，也必不吝惜你。』羅十一21
『你看神的恩慈和嚴厲：對那跌倒的人是嚴厲，對你卻是神的恩慈，只要你常留在祂的恩慈中；不然，你也要被砍下來。』羅十一22
『而且他們若不是常留於不信中，仍要被接上，因為神能彀把他們重新接上。』羅十一23
『你是從那天然的野橄欖樹上砍下來的，尚且逆著性得接在栽種的橄欖樹上，何況這些天然的枝子，豈不更要接在自己的橄欖樹上麼？』羅十一24
『弟兄們，我不願意你們不知道這奧祕，（恐怕你們自以為精明，）就是以色列人有幾分硬心，直到外邦人的數目添滿了，』羅十一25
『於是以色列全家都要得救，如經上所記：“必有拯救者從錫安出來，祂要從雅各家消除不虔。』羅十一26
『我除去他們罪的時候，這就是我與他們所立的約。”』羅十一27
『就著福音說，他們因你們的緣故是仇敵；但就著揀選說，他們因列祖的緣故是蒙愛的。』羅十一28
『因為神的恩賜和呼召，是沒有後悔的。』羅十一29
『你們從前不信從神，如今卻因他們的不信從，蒙了憐憫；』羅十一30
『照樣，他們現今也是不信從的，叫他們因著你們所蒙的憐憫，現今也就蒙憐憫。』羅十一31
『因為神將眾人都圈在不信從之中，為要憐憫眾人。』羅十一32
『深哉，神的豐富、智慧和知識！祂的判斷何其難測，祂的道路何其難尋！』羅十一33
『誰曾知道主的心思，誰曾作過祂的策士？』羅十一34
『誰曾先給了祂，使祂後來償還？』羅十一35
『因為萬有都是本於祂、藉著祂、並歸於祂；願榮耀歸與祂，直到永遠。阿們。』羅十一36
Romans Chapter 12 A Living Sacrifice
12:1 Therefore, I urge
you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living
sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
12:2 Do not conform
any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of
your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his
good, pleasing and perfect will.
Humble Service in the
Body of Christ
12:3 For by the grace
given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than
you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with
the measure of faith God has given you.
12:4 Just as each of
us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same
function,
12:5 so in Christ we
who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.
12:6 We have different
gifts, according to the grace given us. If a man's gift is prophesying, let him
use it in proportion to his faith.
12:7 If it is serving, let
him serve; if it is teaching, let him teach;
12:8 if it is encouraging,
let him encourage; if it is contributing to the needs of others, let him give
generously; if it is leadership, let him govern diligently; if it is showing
mercy, let him do it cheerfully.
Love in Action
12:9 Love must be sincere.
Hate what is evil; cling to what is good.
12:10 Be devoted to one
another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
12:11 Never be lacking in
zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
12:13 Share with God's
people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
12:14 Bless those who
persecute you; bless and do not curse.
12:15 Rejoice with those
who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
12:16 Live in harmony with
one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low
position. Do not be conceited.
12:17 Do not repay anyone
evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
12:18 If it is possible,
as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
12:19 Do not take revenge,
my friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: "It is mine
to avenge; I will repay," says the Lord.
12:20 On the contrary:
"If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something
to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head."
12:21 Do not be overcome
by evil, but overcome evil with good.
『所以弟兄們，我藉著神的憐恤勸你們，將身體獻上，當作聖別並討神喜悅的活祭，這是你們合理的事奉。』羅十二1
『不要模倣這世代，反要藉著心思的更新而變化，叫你們驗證何為神那美好、可喜悅、並純全的旨意。』羅十二2
『我藉著所賜給我的恩典，對你們各人說，不要看自己過於所當看的，乃要照著神所分給各人信心的度量，看得清明適度。』羅十二3
『正如我們一個身體上有好些肢體，但肢體不都有一樣的功用；』羅十二4
『我們這許多人，在基督裏是一個身體，並且各個互相作肢體，也是如此。』羅十二5
『照著所賜給我們的恩典，我們得了不同的恩賜：或申言，就當照著信心的程度申言；』羅十二6
『或服事，就當忠於服事；或作教導的，就當忠於教導；』羅十二7
『或作勸勉的，就當忠於勸勉；分授的，就當單純；帶領的，就當殷勤；憐憫人的，就當甘心樂意。』羅十二8
『愛不可假冒，惡要厭棄，善要貼近。』羅十二9
『愛弟兄，要彼此親熱；恭敬人，要互相爭先。』羅十二10
『殷勤不可懶惰，要靈裏火熱，常常服事主。』羅十二11
『在指望中要喜樂，在患難中要忍耐，在禱告上要堅定持續，』羅十二12
『在聖徒缺乏上要有交通，待客要追尋機會。』羅十二13
『逼迫你們的，要為他們祝福；只要祝福，不可咒詛。』羅十二14
『與喜樂的人要同樂，與哀哭的人要同哭。』羅十二15
『要彼此思念相同的事，不要思念高傲的事，倒要俯就卑微的人，不要自以為精明。』羅十二16
『不要以惡報惡，要準備在眾人面前作善美的事。』羅十二17
『若是可能，總要盡力與眾人和睦。』羅十二18
『親愛的，不要為自己伸冤，寧可給神的忿怒留地步，因為經上記著：“主說，伸冤在我，我必報應。”』羅十二19
『反而“你的仇敵若餓了，就給他喫，若渴了，就給他喝，因為你這樣行，就是把炭火堆在他的頭上。”』羅十二20
『你不可為惡所勝，反要以善勝惡。』羅十二21
Romans
Chapter 13 Submission to Governing Authorities
13:1 Everyone must
submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except
that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been
established by God.
13:2 Consequently, he
who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted,
and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves.
13:3 For rulers hold
no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be
free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will
commend you.
13:4 For he is God's
servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear
the sword for nothing. He is God's servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment
on the wrongdoer.
13:5 Therefore, it is
necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment
but also because of conscience.
13:6 This is also why
you pay taxes, for the authorities are God's servants, who give their full time
to governing.
13:7 Give everyone
what you owe him: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if
respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Love Fulfills the Law
13:9 The commandments,
"Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not
steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may
be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
13:10 Love does no harm to
its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
The Day Is Near
13:11 And do this,
understanding the present time. The hour has come for you to wake up from your
slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
13:12 The night is
nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness
and put on the armor of light.
13:13 Let us behave
decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual
immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.
13:14 Rather, clothe
yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify
the desires of the sinful nature.
『在上有權柄的，人人都當服從，因為沒有權柄不是從神來的，凡掌權的都是神所設立的。』羅十三1
『所以抗拒掌權的，就是抗拒神的設立；抗拒的必自招處罰。』羅十三2
『作官的原不是叫行善的懼怕，乃是叫作惡的懼怕。你願意不懼怕掌權的麼？你只要行善，就可得他的稱讚，』羅十三3
『因為他是神的僕人，是與你有益的。但你若作惡，就當懼怕，因為他不是徒然佩劍，他是神的僕人，是伸冤的，使忿怒臨到那作惡的。』羅十三4
『所以你們必須服從，不但是因為忿怒，也是因為良心。』羅十三5
『你們上稅也為這緣故，因他們是神的僕役，為這差事專責服役。』羅十三6
『凡人所當得的，就給他們：當得稅的，就給他上稅；當得捐的，就給他納捐；當懼怕的，就懼怕他；當尊敬的，就尊敬他。』羅十三7
『凡事都不可虧欠人，惟有彼此相愛，要常以為虧欠，因為愛人的就完全了律法。』羅十三8
『因為“不可姦淫，不可殺人，不可偷盜，不可貪心，”以及任何別的誡命，都總括在“要愛鄰舍如同自己”這一句話裏面了。』羅十三9
『愛是不加害與鄰舍的，所以愛乃是律法的完滿。』羅十三10
『再者，你們曉得這時期，現在就是你們該睡醒的時刻了，因為我們得救，現今比初信的時候更近了。』羅十三11
『黑夜已深，白晝將近，所以我們當脫去黑暗的行為，穿上光的兵器。』羅十三12
『行事為人要端正得體，好像在白晝；不可荒宴醉酒，不可縱慾淫蕩，不可爭競嫉妒；』羅十三13
『總要穿上主耶穌基督，不要為肉體打算，去放縱私慾。』羅十三14
14:2 One man's faith allows
him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only
vegetables.
14:3 The man who eats
everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat
everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him.
14:4 Who are you to
judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will
stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.
14:5 One man considers
one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one
should be fully convinced in his own mind.
14:6 He who regards
one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord,
for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives
thanks to God.
14:7 For none of us lives
to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone.
14:8 If we live, we live
to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we
belong to the Lord.
14:9 For this very reason,
Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead
and the living.
14:10 You, then, why
do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will
all stand before God's judgment seat.
14:11 It is written:
"'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me;
every tongue will confess to God.'"
14:12 So then, each of
us will give an account of himself to God.
14:13 Therefore let us
stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any
stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way.
14:14 As one who is in the
Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food is unclean in itself. But if
anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean.
14:15 If your brother is
distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by
your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died.
14:16 Do not allow what
you consider good to be spoken of as evil.
14:18 because anyone who
serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.
14:19 Let us therefore
make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
14:20 Do not destroy the
work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man
to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble.
14:21 It is better not
to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother
to fall.
14:22 So whatever you
believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man
who does not condemn himself by what he approves.
14:23 But the man who
has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and
everything that does not come from faith is sin.
『有人信百物都可喫，但那軟弱的，只喫蔬菜。』羅十四2
『喫的人不可輕視不喫的人，不喫的人也不可審判喫的人，因為神已經接納他了。』羅十四3
『你是誰，竟審判別人的家僕？他或站住或跌倒，自有他的主人在，而且他也必要站住，因為主能使他站住。』羅十四4
『有人斷定這日比那日強，有人斷定日日都一樣，只是各人自己的心思要堅信不移。』羅十四5
『守日的人是向主守的，喫的人是向主喫的，因為他感謝神；不喫的人是向主不喫的，他也感謝神。』羅十四6
『因為我們沒有一個人向自己活，也沒有一個人向自己死；』羅十四7
『我們若活著，是向主活；若死了，是向主死。所以我們或活或死，總是主的人。』羅十四8
『因此基督死了，又活了，為要作死人並活人的主。』羅十四9
『你為甚麼審判你的弟兄？又為甚麼輕視你的弟兄？我們都要站在神的審判臺前，』羅十四10
『因為經上記著：“主說，我指著我的生存起誓，萬膝必向我跪拜，萬口也必向神公開承認。”』羅十四11
『這樣看來，我們各人必要將自己的事向神陳明。』羅十四12
『所以我們不可再彼此審判，寧可這樣斷定：不給弟兄放下絆腳石或跌人之物。』羅十四13
『我在主耶穌裏確知深信，凡物本身沒有不潔淨的，惟獨人算為不潔淨的，在他就不潔淨了。』羅十四14
『你若因食物叫弟兄憂愁，就不再是照著愛而行。基督已經替他死了，你不可因你的食物敗壞他。』羅十四15
『所以，不可叫你們的善被人毀謗，』羅十四16
『因為神的國不在於喫喝，乃在於公義、和平、並聖靈中的喜樂。』羅十四17
『這樣服事基督的，就為神所喜悅，又為人所稱許。』羅十四18
『所以我們務要追求和平的事，以及彼此建造的事。』羅十四19
『不可因食物拆毀神的工程。凡物固然潔淨，但人喫了，以致成了絆腳石，就是他的惡了。』羅十四20
『無論是喫肉，是喝酒，或是甚麼別的絆跌你弟兄的事，一概不作纔好。』羅十四21
『你有信心，就當自己在神面前持守。人在自己所稱許的事上，不審判自己，就有福了。』羅十四22
『但那疑惑的人若喫了，就必被定罪，因為不是出於信心。凡不是出於信心的，都是罪。』羅十四23
