Bible in one year 10/20/ 2022 Proverbs Chapter 27-28

 Proverbs 27  The anger that a fool provokes is almost unbearable. (v.3). Love that is concealed does not show itself in administering a needed reproof. (v.5). A loyal friend may correct an individual and the wounds will heal, whereas a deceitful enemy says sweet things that offer no real help.(v.6). Although luxurious possessions may not satisfy, to those without them even cheap things look good. (v.7).  A master teacher desires the pupil to be wise so that no one will be able to criticize him as a poor teacher.(v.11). The thought of the proverb is that it is impossible to hide or restrain the contentious woman(v.16). Social contacts have a stimulating effect on the mind and personality.(v.17). As water reflects the face, the heart of man reflects nd reveals his inner person.(v.19). A man’s response to praise is a test of his character. Self-depreciation may reflect false pride.(v.21). The last verses (vv.23-27) of the chapter contain a brief treatise on the blessings of pastoral life and the sufficiency of God’s prevision.

 Proverbs 27 (KJV)

¹ Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

² Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.

³ A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool's wrath is heavier than them both.

⁴ Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

⁵ Open rebuke is better than secret love.

⁶ Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

⁷ The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.

⁸ As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.

⁹ Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

¹⁰ Thine own friend, and thy father's friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother's house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

¹¹ My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.

¹² A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

¹³ Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.

¹⁴ He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

¹⁵ A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

¹⁶ Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.

¹⁷ Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

¹⁸ Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

¹⁹ As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

²⁰ Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.

²¹ As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.

²² Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

²³ Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.

²⁴ For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?

²⁵ The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.

²⁶ The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.

²⁷ And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

箴 27 (CKJVGT)

¹ 不要為明日自誇，因為一日要生何事，你尚且不能知道。

² 要別人誇獎你，不可用口自誇；等外人稱讚你，不可用嘴自稱。

³ 石頭重，沙土沉；愚妄人的惱怒倒比這兩樣更重。

⁴ 忿怒為殘忍，怒氣為狂瀾；唯在嫉妒面前，誰能站得住呢？

⁵ 當面的責備勝過暗地的愛情。

⁶ 朋友加的傷痕出於忠誠；仇敵連連親嘴卻是詭詐。

⁷ 人吃飽了，厭惡蜂房的蜜；人飢餓了，一切苦物都覺甘甜。

⁸ 人離本處飄流，好像雀鳥離窩遊飛。

⁹ 膏油與香料使人心喜悅；朋友誠實的勸教也是如此甘美。

¹⁰ 你的朋友和父親的朋友，你都不可離棄。你遭難的日子，不要上兄弟的家去；相近的鄰舍勝過遠方的兄弟。

¹¹ 我兒，你要作智慧人，好叫我的心歡喜，使我可以回答那譏誚我的人。

¹² 通達人見禍藏躲；愚蒙人前往受害。

¹³ 誰為生人作保，就拿誰的衣服；誰為外女作保，誰就承當。

¹⁴ 清晨起來，大聲給朋友祝福的，就算是咒詛他。

¹⁵ 大雨之日連連滴漏，和爭吵的婦人一樣；

¹⁶ 想躲避她的，便是躲避風，也是右手抓油，他必顯露自己。

¹⁷ 鐵磨鐵，磨出刃來；朋友磨朋友的臉也是如此。

¹⁸ 看守無花果樹的，必吃樹上的果子；敬奉主人的，必得尊榮。

¹⁹ 水中照臉，彼此相符；人與人，心也相對。

²⁰ 地獄和滅亡，永不滿足；人的眼目，也是如此。

²¹ 鼎為煉銀，爐為煉金，人的稱讚也試煉人。

²² 你雖用杵將愚妄人與打碎的麥子一同搗在臼中，他的愚妄還是離不了他。

²³ 你要詳細知道你羊群的景況，留心料理你的牛群。

²⁴ 因為資財不能永有；冠冕豈能存到所有的世代？

²⁵ 乾草顯出，嫩草顯現，山上的菜蔬也被收斂。

²⁶ 綿羊羔之毛是為你作衣服，山羊是為作田地的價值。

²⁷ 你就必有母山羊奶夠你吃，也夠你的家眷吃，且夠養你的婢女。 

 

               Proverbs 28  A country is rebellious(v.2). it indicates national sin brings upheaval, but a wise ruler can bring national stability. Oppressions of the poor by obscure men is an absurd calamity, like rain that washes away crops instead of watering them.(v.3). One’s attitude towards the law reflects one’s attitude toward the wicked.(v.4). gluttons(v.7). Better, frivolous men. The extortioner will lose his gains to a more just man who is kind to the poor. (v.8). such hypocrisy is unacceptable to God.(v.9). Triumph (v.12). Lit., exult. Men go into hiding. Lit., men will be searched for; i.e., will be hidden. The righteous will hide form their wicked rulers. Conceals (v.13) refuses to admit his guilt. Always fears.(v.14). Fears sin and its consequences.  A murderer can find no escape until he dies.(v.17). Hastily acquired wealth usually comes through dishonest dealings.(v.20). For the smallest bribe some men will depart from strict justice.(v.21).

Proverbs 28 (KJV)

¹ The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

² For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

³ A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

⁴ They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

⁵ Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

⁶ Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

⁷ Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shameth his father.

⁸ He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

⁹ He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

¹⁰ Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

¹¹ The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

¹² When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

¹³ He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

¹⁴ Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

¹⁵ As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

¹⁶ The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

¹⁷ A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

¹⁸ Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

¹⁹ He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

²⁰ A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

²¹ To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

²² He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

²³ He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

²⁴ Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

²⁵ He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

²⁶ He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

²⁷ He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.

²⁸ When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

箴 28 (CKJVGT)

¹ 惡人雖無人追趕也逃跑；義人卻膽壯像獅子。

² 邦國因有罪過，君王就多更換；因有聰明知識的人，國必長存。

³ 窮人欺壓貧民，好像暴雨沖沒糧食。

⁴ 違棄律法的，誇獎惡人；遵守律法的，卻與惡人相爭。

⁵ 壞人不明白公義；唯有尋求　耶和華的明白一切。

⁶ 行為正直的窮乏人勝過行事乖僻的富足人。

⁷ 謹守律法的，是智慧之子；與放縱之人作伴的，卻羞辱其父。

⁸ 人以放債與不義之財加增財物，是給那憐憫窮人者積蓄的。

⁹ 轉耳不聽律法的，他的祈禱也為可憎。

¹⁰ 誘惑義人行惡道的，必掉在自己的坑裏；唯有正直人必承受福分。

¹¹ 富足人自以為有智慧，但聰明的貧窮人能將他查透。

¹² 義人歡喜，有大榮耀；惡人興起，人就躲藏。

¹³ 遮掩自己罪過的，必不亨通；承認離棄罪過的，必蒙憐恤。

¹⁴ 常存敬畏的，便為有福；心存剛硬的，必陷在禍患裏。

¹⁵ 邪惡的掌權者轄制貧民，好像吼叫的獅子、覓食的熊。

¹⁶ 無知的君多行暴虐；以貪財為可恨的，必年長日久。

¹⁷ 行強暴流人血之罪的，必往坑裏逃跑，誰也不可攔阻他。

¹⁸ 行動正直的，必蒙拯救；行事彎曲的，立時跌倒。

¹⁹ 耕種自己田地的，必得飽食；追隨虛浮的，足受窮乏。

²⁰ 忠信人必多得福；想要急速發財的，不免受罰。

²¹ 看人的情面乃為不好；人因一塊餅枉法也為不好。

²² 人有惡眼想要急速發財，卻不知窮乏必臨到他身。

²³ 責備人的，後來蒙人喜悅，多於那用舌頭諂媚人的。

²⁴ 偷竊父母的，說：這不是罪；此人就是與行毀壞的同類。

²⁵ 心中驕傲的，挑起爭端；倚靠　耶和華的，必得豐裕。

²⁶ 心中自是的，便是愚昧人；憑智慧行事的，必蒙拯救。

²⁷ 賙濟貧窮的，不致缺乏；佯為不見的，必多受咒詛。

²⁸ 惡人興起，人就躲藏；惡人敗亡，義人增多。
