Weekly Message: Faith’s confessions create realities            10/18/2022

When we constantly confess our faith in God the Father, our Lord, Jesus Christ and the Word of God, the divine power of God will transform us day by day to act, to live, to reflect the Triune God who He is, what He is, and what He has. And His glorious image and characteristic will manifest in us. For faith’s confessions create realities, as Jesus said, “I am the way, the life, and the truth (realities)”.

Romans 10:9-11 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.” Chinese literally says, “你若口裏認主耶穌,心裏信神已叫他從死裏復活就必得救.因為人心裏相信,就可以稱義;口裏承認,就可以得救 聖經上:凡信他的人必不至於羞愧.” ( 10:9-11)

This scripture does not refer to confessing sin. This is confessing Jesus. In his heart man believes, and with his mouth he confesses that Jesus is his Lord. What we say is our confession. And our confessions the words we say rule us. Jesus said they did. What is the confession we are to hold fast to – the confession we are to maintain?  It is

a) The confession of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

 b) The confession of our faith in God our Heavenly Father.

 c) The confession of our faith in the Word of God.

The majority of Christians are weak. This is because they never really confess what God’s Word says about them. They have never dared confess that they are what the Bible says they are and that they have what the Bible says they have. Many maintain a wrong confession instead of holding fast to a right confession. A wrong confession is a confession of defeat, of failure, and of the supremacy of Satan. They are always talking about what a time they’re having with the devil. What a battle they’re having. What all they’re going through? How the devil is keeping them from success, keeping them sick, holding them in bondage. And as long as they talk like that, according to what Jesus said, that is what they are going to have.  This kind of confession is an unconscious declaration that God, our Heavenly Father, is a failure. God is not a failure! Defeat is not of God. When you talk about defeat you’re talking about the works of the devil. God did not intend that the church should be defeated. He said that the gates of hell would not prevail against the church!

Roman 8: 15-17 says,

“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” the Spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs, heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ. If indeed we

share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.” (  8:15-17).

1 John 3: 1-2 says,

“Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:1-2). In Chinese literally says, “親愛的弟兄啊,我們現在是神的眾子,將來如何,還未顯明;但我們知道,到他顯現的時候,我們必要像他,因為必得見他的真體。” (約一 3:2)

Christians’ Faith realization is that we are children of God, Sons and daughters of God! We are heirs of God- join heirs with Christ! We joyfully confess our relationship with God. And in what way are we related to Him? We are born of God, Children of God. His is our very own Father. We are His very own children; we must confess that’s who we are in Christ. For faith’s confessions create realities. As far as God is concerned everything you have or are “in Christ” is so. He has done it. Everything the Bible says is ours legally. The Bible is a legal document, sealed by the Blood of Jesus. However, it is your believing it and your confessing it which makes it a reality to you. God wants us to enjoy and know the reality of what He has provided for us. And His Word tells us how to do it!

My Friends, Jesus left us an example and that we should follow in His steps. He constantly confessed that I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. (John14:9,11). You should constantly be confessing who you are in Christ.  Not who you are physically –the son (or daughter) of Charles who lives on such and such street. No! But who you are according to the Word of God, That’s the confession we’re to hold fast to.
