Ephesians Chapter 4 Unity and Maturity in the Body of Christ
4:1 As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.
4:3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
4:4 There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one hope when you were called--
4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
4:6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
4:7 But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.
4:8 This is why it says: "When he ascended on high, he led captives in his train and gave gifts to men."
4:9 (What does "he ascended" mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions?
4:10 He who descended is the very one who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill the whole universe.)
4:11 It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers,
4:12 to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up
4:13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
4:14 Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming.
4:15 Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ.
4:16 From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.
Instructions for Christian Living
4:17 So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their thinking.
4:18 They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.
4:19 Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more.
4:20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way.
4:21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus.
4:22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
4:23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
4:24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
4:25 Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
4:26 "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry,
4:27 and do not give the devil a foothold.
4:28 He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands, that he may have something to share with those in need.
4:29 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
4:30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
4:31 Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.
4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
『所以我這在主裏的囚犯勸你們，行事為人要與你們所蒙的呼召相配，』弗四1
『凡事卑微、溫柔、恆忍，在愛裏彼此擔就，』弗四2
『以和平的聯索，竭力保守那靈的一：』弗四3
『一個身體和一位靈，正如你們蒙召，也是在一個盼望中蒙召的；』弗四4
『一主，一信，一浸；』弗四5
『一位眾人的神與父，就是那超越眾人，貫徹眾人，也在眾人之內的。』弗四6
『但恩典賜給我們各人，是照著基督恩賜的度量。』弗四7
『所以經上說，“祂既升上高處，就擄掠了那些被擄的，將恩賜賜給人。”』弗四8
『（若非祂也曾降到地的低下之處，“祂升上”是甚麼意思？』弗四9
『那降下的，也是那升上，遠超諸天之上，為要充滿萬有的。）』弗四10
『祂所賜的，有些是使徒，有些是申言者，有些是傳福音者，有些是牧人和教師，』弗四11
『為要成全聖徒，目的是為著職事的工作，為著建造基督的身體，』弗四12
『直到我們眾人都達到了信仰上並對神兒子之完全認識上的一，達到了長成的人，達到了基督豐滿之身材的度量，』弗四13
『使我們不再作小孩子，為波浪漂來漂去，並為一切教訓之風所搖蕩，這教訓是在於人的欺騙手法，在於將人引入錯謬系統的詭詐作為；』弗四14
『惟在愛裏持守著真實，我們就得以在一切事上長到祂，就是元首基督裏面；』弗四15
『本於祂，全身藉著每一豐富供應的節，並藉著每一部分依其度量而有的功用，得以聯絡在一起，並結合在一起，便叫身體漸漸長大，以致在愛裏把自己建造起來。』弗四16
『所以我這樣說，且在主裏見證，你們行事為人，不要再像外邦人在他們心思的虛妄裏行事為人，』弗四17
『他們在悟性上既然昏暗，就因著那在他們裏面的無知，因著他們心裏的剛硬，與神的生命隔絕了；』弗四18
『他們感覺既然喪盡，就任憑自己放蕩，以致貪行種種的污穢。』弗四19
『但你們並不是這樣學了基督；』弗四20
『如果你們真是聽過祂，並在祂裏面，照著那在耶穌身上是實際者，受過教導，』弗四21
『在從前的生活樣式上，脫去了舊人，這舊人是照著那迷惑的情慾敗壞的；』弗四22
『而在你們心思的靈裏得以更新，』弗四23
『並且穿上了新人，這新人是照著神，在那實際的義和聖中所創造的。』弗四24
『所以你們既已脫去謊言，各人就要與鄰舍說實話，因為我們是互相為肢體。』弗四25
『生氣卻不要犯罪，不可含怒到日落，』弗四26
『也不可給魔鬼留地步。』弗四27
『偷竊的不要再偷，倒要勞力，親手作正經事，好有所分給需要的人。』弗四28
『敗壞的話一句都不可出口，只要按需要說建造人的好話，好將恩典供給聽見的人.』弗四29
『並且不要叫神的聖靈憂愁，你們原是在祂裏面受了印記，直到得贖的日子.』弗四30
『一切苦毒、惱恨、忿怒、喧嚷、毀謗，同一切的惡毒，都要從你們中間除掉.』弗四31
『你們要以恩慈相待，心存慈憐，彼此饒恕，正如神在基督裏饒恕了你們一樣.』弗四32
Chapter 5 In Relation to Evil, To the Holy Spirit, to Home Life
5:1 Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children
5:2 and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.
5:3 But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for God's holy people.
5:4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.
5:5 For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person--such a man is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.
5:7 Therefore do not be partners with them.
5:8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
5:9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
5:10 and find out what pleases the Lord.
5:11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.
5:12 For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret.
5:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible,
5:14 for it is light that makes everything visible. This is why it is said: "Wake up, O sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you."
5:15 Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise,
5:16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.
5:17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is.
5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
5:19 Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord,
5:20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Instructions for Christian Households
5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
5:22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord.
5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.
5:24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
5:26 to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,
5:27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.
5:28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
5:29 After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church--
5:30 for we are members of his body.
5:31 "For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."
5:32 This is a profound mystery--but I am talking about Christ and the church.
5:33 However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.
『所以你們要效法神，好像蒙愛的兒女一樣；』弗五1
『也要在愛裏行事為人，正如基督愛我們，為我們捨了自己，作供物和祭物獻與神，成為馨香之氣。』弗五2
『至於淫亂、並一切污穢、或是貪婪，在你們中間連題都不可，如此纔與聖徒相宜；』弗五3
『還有淫辭、妄語、或是粗鄙的戲言，都不相宜，寧可說感謝的話。』弗五4
『因為你們曉得這事，知道凡是淫亂的，或是污穢的，或是貪婪的，（就是拜偶像的，）在基督和神的國裏，都得不到基業。』弗五5
『不要讓人用虛空的話欺騙你們，因這些事，神的忿怒正臨到那悖逆之子。』弗五6
『所以你們不要與他們同夥。』弗五7
『你們從前是黑暗，但如今在主裏面乃是光，行事為人就要像光的兒女，』弗五8
『（光的果子是在於一切的善、義和真實，）』弗五9
『要驗證何為主所喜悅的，』弗五10
『不要有分於黑暗無果子的行為，倒要責備，』弗五11
『因為他們所行隱密的事，就是題起來也是可恥的。』弗五12
『一切事受了責備，就被光顯明了；因為凡將事顯明的，就是光。』弗五13
『所以祂說，睡著的人哪，要起來，要從死人中站起來，基督就要光照你了。』弗五14
『你們要仔細留意怎樣行事為人，不要像不智慧的人，乃要像有智慧的人；』弗五15
『要贖回光陰，因為日子邪惡。』弗五16
『所以不要作愚昧人，卻要明白甚麼是主的旨意。』弗五17
『不要醉酒，醉酒使人放蕩，乃要在靈裏被充滿，』弗五18
『用詩章、頌辭、靈歌，彼此對說，從心中向主歌唱、頌詠，』弗五19
『凡事要在我們主耶穌基督的名裏，時常感謝神與父，』弗五20
『憑著敬畏基督，彼此服從：』弗五21
『作妻子的，要服從自己的丈夫，如同服從主；』弗五22
『因為丈夫是妻子的頭，如同基督是召會的頭；祂自己乃是身體的救主。』弗五23
『召會怎樣服從基督，妻子也要照樣凡事服從丈夫。』弗五24
『作丈夫的，要愛你們的妻子，正如基督愛召會，為召會捨了自己，』弗五25
『好聖化召會，藉著話中之水的洗滌潔淨召會，』弗五26
『祂好獻給自己，作榮耀的召會，沒有斑點、皺紋、或任何這類的病，好使她成為聖別、沒有瑕疵。』弗五27
『丈夫也當照樣愛自己的妻子，如同愛自己的身體；愛自己妻子的，便是愛自己了。』弗五28
『從來沒有人恨惡自己的身體，總是保養顧惜，正像基督待召會一樣，』弗五29
『因為我們是祂身體上的肢體。』弗五30
『為這緣故，人要離開父母，與妻子聯合，二人成為一體。』弗五31
『這是極大的奧祕，但我是指著基督與召會說的。』弗五32
『然而你們每一個人，也要這樣各愛自己的妻子，如同愛自己一樣；妻子也要敬畏丈夫。』弗五33
Chapter 6 In Relation to Slaves, Masters; the protection for Believers- Full armor of God
6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.
6:2 "Honor your father and mother"--which is the first commandment with a promise--
6:3 "that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth."
6:4 Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.
6:5 Slaves, obey your earthly masters with respect and fear, and with sincerity of heart, just as you would obey Christ.
6:6 Obey them not only to win their favor when their eye is on you, but like slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from your heart.
6:7 Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men,
6:8 because you know that the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.
6:9 And masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him.
Put on The Armor of God
6:10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
6:11 Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes.
6:12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
6:13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
6:16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
6:17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
6:19 Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
6:20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Final Greetings
6:21 Tychicus, the dear brother and faithful servant in the Lord, will tell you everything, so that you also may know how I am and what I am doing.
6:22 I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage you.
6:23 Peace to the brothers, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
6:24 Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.
『作兒女的，要在主裏順從你們的父母，因為這是正當的。』弗六1
『“要孝敬父母，使你亨通，在世長壽。”這是第一條帶應許的誡命。』弗六2
『作父親的，不要惹你們兒女的氣，只要用主的管教和警戒養育他們。』弗六4
『作奴僕的，要恐懼戰兢的，憑心中的單純，順從肉身的主人，如同順從基督一樣。』弗六5
『不要只在眼前事奉，像是討人喜歡的，乃要像基督的奴僕，從心裏實行神的旨意，』弗六6
『用善意服事，好像對主，不像對人；』弗六7
『曉得各人，或是為奴的，或是自主的，無論行了甚麼善，都必從主得著賞報。』弗六8
『作主人的，也要同樣待奴僕，放棄威嚇，知道他們和你們的主人，乃是在諸天之上，祂並不偏待人。』弗六9
『末了的話，你們要在主裏，靠著祂力量的權能，得著加力。』弗六10
『要穿戴神全副的軍裝，使你們能以站住，抵擋魔鬼的詭計，』弗六11
『因我們並不是與血肉之人摔跤，乃是與那些執政的、掌權的、管轄這黑暗世界的、以及諸天界裏那邪惡的屬靈勢力摔跤。』弗六12
『所以要拿起神全副的軍裝，使你們在邪惡的日子能以抵擋，並且作成了一切，還能站立得住。』弗六13
『所以要站住，用真理束你們的腰，穿上義的胸甲，』弗六14
『且以和平福音的穩固根基，當作鞋穿在腳上；』弗六15
『此外，拿起信的盾牌，藉此就能銷滅那惡者一切火燒的箭。』弗六16
『還要藉著各樣的禱告和祈求，接受救恩的頭盔，並那靈的劍，那靈就是神的話；』弗六17
『時時在靈裏禱告，並盡力堅持，在這事上儆醒，且為眾聖徒祈求，』弗六18
『也替我祈求，使我在開口的時候，有發表賜給我，好放膽講明福音的奧祕，』弗六19
『（我為這奧祕作了帶鎖鍊的大使，）使我在這奧祕上，照我所當講的，放膽講說。』弗六20
『但為叫你們知道關於我的事，我的景況如何，有親愛的弟兄，在主裏忠信的執事推基古，要將一切全告訴你們，』弗六21
『我特為這事，打發他到你們那裏去，好叫你們知道關於我們的事，並叫他安慰你們的心。』弗六22
『願平安與愛同著信，從父神並主耶穌基督歸與弟兄們。』弗六23
『願恩典與一切在不朽壞之中，愛我們主耶穌基督的人同在。』弗六24
